Total pay is as the Summary Compensation Table states it; actually paid revalues the year’s share awards
at its end, as the SEC’s pay-versus-performance rule asks. $100 invested is what $100 in the company’s
shares at the start of the earliest year shown was worth at each year’s end.
Ownership is the proxy’s own table: the directors and officers as a group, and every holder of 5% or more.

Steel Dynamics is an industrial metals company founded in 1993, with facilities across the United States and Mexico. Mark D. Millett is its co-founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. The company uses a circular manufacturing model: its recycling business collects and processes scrap metal; its electric-arc-furnace steel mills and aluminum operations use that material; and its fabrication businesses turn steel into finished building components.
Its main activities are making and selling steel, processing and selling ferrous and nonferrous scrap, and manufacturing steel joists, joist girders and steel deck systems. Steel products include flat-rolled sheet—hot rolled, cold rolled, galvanized, painted and other coated products—and long products such as structural beams, rail, reinforcing bar, specialty shapes and engineered bar products. It sells these products to manufacturers, processors, service centers, fabricators and construction-related customers.
