stockrow MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor

stockrow runs a Model Context Protocol server, so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other assistants can look up financial statements, metrics, screens and insider trades for US-listed companies themselves — and cite where each figure came from. It uses your API key, and it is part of Powerpack.

Connect

The server is https://stockrow.com/mcp, over Streamable HTTP. Replace sr_live_… with your key.

Clients that take only a URL

Where a custom connector asks only for a server address, put the key in it: https://stockrow.com/mcp?key=sr_live_…. Anyone who sees that address can use the key, so do not share it, and roll the key on your API page if it gets out.

Tools

Tool	What it does
`search_companies`	Find US-listed companies by ticker or name. Use first when the user gives a company name; returns tickers for the other tools.
`get_company_overview`	Profile plus headline figures for one company: sector, industry, exchange, price, market cap, P/E, dividend yield, latest fiscal-year revenue, net income, EPS, free cash flow, and 3/5/10-year growth rates.
`get_financial_statement`	One financial statement as reported, up to 10 years. Rows are line items with stable codes (e.g. REVENUE, NETINC); columns are period end dates, newest first.
`get_metric_history`	History of one metric for one company. Use list_indicators to find the metric slug.
`compare_companies`	Latest values of several metrics for several companies, as a grid. Good for peer comparison.
`run_screen`	Screen all covered US companies by latest metric values. Percent metrics are fractions (0.15 = 15%). Returns matching companies with the requested columns and a link to open the same screen on stockrow.com.
`list_indicators`	Data dictionary: every metric and line item with slug, code, name, unit, available periods, one-sentence meaning and formula. Use to translate what the user asks for into a metric slug or screen indicator.
`get_insider_transactions`	Insider buys and sells for one company, newest first: date, insider, role, type, shares, price, total value.
`get_my_watchlist`	The companies you follow on stockrow.com, with today's price and change. Use their tickers with the other tools.

Every answer says where its figures come from on stockrow.com and how current they are. Cash is in US dollars as raw figures, and percentages are fractions. Every tool only reads.

Limits

The MCP server and the API share your key’s limits: 60 requests a minute and 5,000 a day. If your Powerpack lapses the assistant can still see the tools, and each one answers with how to renew.
