Business profile

Updated

Nextpower supplies technology for utility-scale solar power plants. Its main product is a solar tracking system: equipment that holds rows of panels and turns them to follow the sun. Tracking can increase the electricity a plant produces compared with keeping panels stationary. Nextpower’s systems allow rows to move independently, with motors, controls and sensors managing their position.

The company also sells foundations, steel panel frames and electrical components that collect and transport power. Its software and controls help customers monitor equipment, adjust trackers for site conditions and respond to severe weather. Other offerings include robotic inspection and fire detection. Some products are sold separately, while others can be combined with trackers for a project.

Total pay is as the Summary Compensation Table states it; actually paid revalues the year’s share awards at its end, as the SEC’s pay-versus-performance rule asks. $100 invested is what $100 in the company’s shares at the start of the earliest year shown was worth at each year’s end. Ownership is the proxy’s own table: the directors and officers as a group, and every holder of 5% or more. Read the proxy statement
