Business profile

Updated

Lantheus Holdings is a healthcare company focused on radiopharmaceuticals: products that use radioactive material to help clinicians see or treat disease. Its commercial portfolio is primarily diagnostic, helping clinicians examine patients for cancer, heart conditions and signs associated with Alzheimer’s disease. The company is headquartered in Massachusetts, and Mary Anne Heino is its chief executive officer while the board searches for a successor.

Its prostate cancer imaging agent PYLARIFY is used with PET scans to locate certain cancer lesions. Neuraceq is a PET imaging agent used to estimate the density of amyloid plaques in the brains of adults being evaluated for Alzheimer’s disease or other causes of cognitive decline. DEFINITY is different: it is an injectable ultrasound-enhancing agent used to improve heart images when an echocardiogram is otherwise difficult to interpret.
