Business profile

Updated

Lear Corporation supplies automakers with vehicle seats and electrical systems. Founded in 1917, it is headquartered in Southfield and led by chief executive Raymond E. Scott.

The company has two businesses. Seating designs and makes complete seats that automakers install in vehicles, as well as components such as covers, cushions, mechanisms and headrests. It also makes heating, ventilation, cooling, lumbar support and massage systems for seats. Lear can assemble seats in the sequence a customer needs them and deliver them just in time for vehicle production.
