Business profile

Updated

AAON designs and manufactures heating, ventilation, air conditioning and liquid cooling equipment for commercial and industrial environments. Its customers use the equipment to control temperatures, airflow and indoor conditions in buildings ranging from schools and hospitals to factories and data centers. Founded in 1988 and headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, AAON is led by President and CEO Matt Tobolski.

The company makes equipment to order rather than relying only on standardized models. Its AAON-branded products include rooftop units, which combine heating and cooling equipment in a package installed on a building’s roof, as well as air handlers, heat pumps, coils and controls. Customers can configure equipment for the needs of a particular building or application.

  • CEO Matthew Tobolski said BASX bookings eased from elevated levels, but attributed the variation to the size and timing of data center orders.
  • Tobolski said the Memphis ramp weighed on consolidated margins, while pricing in the backlog should support improvement later in the year.

Total pay is as the Summary Compensation Table states it; actually paid revalues the year’s share awards at its end, as the SEC’s pay-versus-performance rule asks. $100 invested is what $100 in the company’s shares at the start of the earliest year shown was worth at each year’s end. Ownership is the proxy’s own table: the directors and officers as a group, and every holder of 5% or more. Read the proxy statement
