Primerica reported adjusted earnings per share of $6.41 for Q2 FY2026, above the consensus estimate of $5.96. Revenue as counted for the consensus comparison was $863.4 million, below the $872.5 million estimate.
The company’s reported total revenue was $865.1 million, up from $793.3 million a year earlier, while diluted earnings per share rose to $6.45 from $5.40. Primerica attributed the revenue increase primarily to higher investment and savings products commissions and fees, investment gains and income, and term life net premiums.
In its filing, Primerica said investment and savings product sales increased as clients bought retirement products and responded to expanded offerings. New life policies issued declined, which the company attributed to fewer newly licensed representatives and economic uncertainty affecting demand.
Primerica reported an operating margin of 29.8%, compared with 29.6% a year earlier, and free cash flow of $167.1 million, compared with $159.0 million. CEO Glenn Williams said a tax equity investment reduced quarterly income tax expense by $4.6 million.

What management said on the call
CEO Glenn Williams said the investment business drove growth in the quarter, with revenue up 21% and pre-tax income up 31% from a year earlier. He said total security sales increased 23%, including a 43% rise in managed account sales, as clients sought retirement and investment products. Williams said favorable equity markets and client inflows helped lift assets under management to $140 billion at quarter-end.
For life insurance, Williams said issued policies fell 12% year over year as economic uncertainty continued to affect families. Recruiting rose 2%, helped partly by an April licensing-fee incentive, but Williams said new licenses and the licensed sales force remained below year-earlier levels following lower recruiting in preceding quarters. He said the latest recruiting improvement had not yet flowed through to licensing because of the lag between the two.
CFO Tracy said mortality experience was favorable relative to long-term actuarial assumptions, while lapse rates were elevated but generally stable. Tracy said Primerica uses reinsurance to reduce earnings volatility and attributed higher consolidated operating expenses to growth-related costs, compensation and technology investment.
Asked what would improve term life sales, Williams cited easier comparisons, efforts to grow the sales force and adaptation to the economic environment. In another answer, he said the initiatives’ effects had arrived later than hoped: “the timing was a little later than we had anticipated.” He said Primerica had lowered its full-year projections as a result.
Tracy said the company expected additional tax benefits in the third and fourth quarters and did not plan to purchase additional income tax credits in 2026. Asked about future purchases, Tracy said: “right now I also cannot predict any activities for 2027.”
Guidance
CEO Glenn Williams said Primerica lowered its full-year projections because the effects of its initiatives arrived later than anticipated. He said the company was beginning to see results and still expected the initiatives to have an impact.
