Latest quarter
Solventum reported Q2 FY2026 revenue of $2.2 billion, beating the consensus by 2.03%, although both reported revenue and the estimate round to $2.2 billion. Adjusted earnings per share of $2.55 also beat the $1.91 consensus estimate.
Revenue rose 2.22% from a year earlier. CFO Wayde McMillan said organic sales grew across MedSurg, Dental Solutions and Health Information Systems, with advance orders ahead of an ERP cutover contributing to the quarter. He said MedSurg benefited from wound-care products and advance orders, while Dental benefited from new products and advance orders; revenue-cycle management solutions supported Health Information Systems.
Solventum’s gross margin rose to 58.2% from 54.4%, while its operating margin fell to 8.19% from 9.90%. Free cash flow increased to $144.0 million from $59.0 million; McMillan attributed the result above company expectations primarily to the timing of tax payments and insurance proceeds.
Before the quarter, Solventum had estimated more than $100.0 million in sales timing benefits from advance orders, rather than a total revenue target. McMillan said the quarter included approximately $125.0 million of those orders.

What management said on the call
On the Q2 call, CEO Bryan Hanson said Solventum was not seeing softness in procedures or business momentum across MedSurg, Dental and Health Information Systems. CFO Wayde McMillan said volume drove quarterly growth, including advance orders ahead of the ERP cutover, while pricing remained within the company’s expected range.
McMillan said the gross margin included a one-time tariff refund. Excluding that refund, he said, tariff costs and inflation weighed on margin, partly offset by savings programs and portfolio changes. He also said operating expenses fell from a year earlier as portfolio moves, cost discipline and savings initiatives outweighed continued investment in the business and growth initiatives.
Hanson said Solventum was advancing a separation of Health Information Systems, which he believed could operate outside the company either independently or combined with another business. He said the remaining company would focus on MedSurg and Dental, while Solventum would continue to invest in Health Information Systems and support its customers during the process.
In the question-and-answer session, Hanson said the Acera acquisition was benefiting from its synthetic tissue technology and Solventum’s existing customer relationships. He expected the business to continue growing at a double-digit rate but did not give a specific forecast. Hanson also said new products and specialized sales teams were part of the company’s approach to growing its businesses.
Asked about the sales outlook, McMillan said advance orders were expected to reverse mostly in Q3. He also said the associated earnings contribution would reverse and that the tariff refund benefit was not expected to recur in the second half. Solventum’s subsequent filing said the ERP deployment had driven approximately $125.0 million of advance customer ordering in Q2.
Guidance
In its latest outlook, Solventum said it expects FY2026 organic sales growth toward the high end of its 2.50% to 3.00% range, rather than across the range it gave after Q2. Excluding SKU exits, it expects growth toward the high end of 3.50% to 4.00%.
Solventum also raised its FY2026 adjusted EPS outlook to $7.20 to $7.30 from $7.10 to $7.20.
