Ryan Specialty reported Q3 FY2026 revenue of $790.0 million, above the $788.8 million consensus. Adjusted earnings per share were $0.51, compared with the consensus estimate of $0.49.
Revenue increased from $754.6 million a year earlier. CFO Janice Hamilton said organic growth, acquisitions and contingent commissions contributed, with professional lines, casualty and underwriting management supporting growth. The filing reported higher net commissions and fees across Wholesale Brokerage, Binding Authority and Underwriting Management. It also described a property portfolio pullback driven by declining rates and more opportunities for retailers to place coverage directly.
Ryan Specialty reported diluted EPS of $0.34, up from $0.20 a year earlier. Operating margin rose to 17.8% from 14.7%, while free cash flow increased to $159.5 million from $153.2 million. Hamilton said adjusted EBITDA margin fell to 30.9% from 31.2%, as the company continued to absorb the cost of its late 2025 hiring, partly offset by cost management and progress from its Empower program.

What management said on the call
CEO Tim Turner said pricing continued to decline on many catastrophe-exposed and large property accounts as additional insurance capacity entered the market. He said wholesale brokers retained renewals and won new business from risks flowing into the excess and surplus lines market. Activity tied to data centers improved each quarter in 2026, he added, although the timing of large construction project bindings is difficult to predict.
Turner said casualty pricing had moderated as competition expanded into some high-hazard classes. Binding Authority also faced intensified competition from new facilities and insurers in the admitted market, he said. Ryan Specialty is responding by broadening its customer base and developing products for high-hazard classes. Turner said underwriting management was led by reinsurance and transactional liability, while builders’ risk remained soft amid macroeconomic pressures.
On investment, Turner said the company launched Terra Underwriters to cover computing hardware deployed in data centers and crypto mining facilities. He also said an AI workbench had reduced processing time for commercial auto liability submissions from as much as two hours to under three minutes. The company plans to develop more workbenches across other lines, he said.
CFO Janice Hamilton said the quarter’s adjusted EBITDA margin reflected the continuing cost of late 2025 talent investments, partly offset by cost management and Empower progress. She said Ryan Specialty repurchased 3.5 million shares for $150 million during the quarter and 1.3 million shares for $50 million in October.
Asked about the outlook for 2027, Hamilton said the company was not providing specific guidance at that point. She cited increasingly complex risks, delegated authority and hiring among the factors the company considers, and said the new hires were expected to contribute in 2027. In response to a question about market conditions, Turner said competition within the non-admitted market was driving property prices down, while opportunities continued to flow into that channel.
Guidance
Ryan Specialty improved its FY2026 adjusted EBITDA margin guidance to a modest year-over-year decline. CFO Janice Hamilton said the company viewed that as around 50 basis points, compared with its previous expectation for a decline of 50 to 100 basis points. She attributed the revised outlook in part to cost discipline and progress from Empower.
