Business profile

Updated

Circle Internet Group builds financial infrastructure for moving money over blockchain networks. It was founded in 2013, and Jeremy Allaire is its chief executive officer and chairman.

Its best-known product is USDC, a digital token designed to be redeemed one-for-one for U.S. dollars. Circle also issues EURC, which is redeemable for euros. Both are backed by reserves of cash and cash equivalents. Institutional customers can create and redeem the tokens through Circle Mint; other users can obtain or exchange them in secondary markets. Circle also operates USYC, a tokenized money market fund intended primarily as collateral in digital asset markets.

Total pay is as the Summary Compensation Table states it; actually paid revalues the year’s share awards at its end, as the SEC’s pay-versus-performance rule asks. $100 invested is what $100 in the company’s shares at the start of the earliest year shown was worth at each year’s end. Ownership is the proxy’s own table: the directors and officers as a group, and every holder of 5% or more. Read the proxy statement
