Latest quarter
Teleflex reported second-quarter revenue of $570.3 million, above the consensus estimate of $559.8 million. Adjusted earnings per share were $1.76, compared with the consensus estimate of $1.28.
Revenue rose 28.9% from $442.5 million a year earlier. In its filing, Teleflex attributed the increase primarily to the acquired vascular intervention business and higher sales volumes of existing products. The filing said revenue increased across the Americas, EMEA and Asia, with the acquired business contributing in each region.
Teleflex reported a gross margin of 58.2%, down from 60.1% a year earlier. The filing attributed the decline primarily to tariffs, the acquired business’s lower margin profile and amortization of acquisition-related intangible assets. Operating margin fell to 12.8% from 20.6%; the filing said selling, general and administrative expenses increased, partly because of costs associated with the acquired business.
Diluted earnings per share were $2.28, compared with $2.77 a year earlier. Teleflex reported free cash flow of $77.9 million, compared with −$64.8 million in the prior-year quarter.

What management said on the call
Lawrence Kirsch said interventional performance fell short of Teleflex’s expectations because integration of the acquired business was taking longer than anticipated. He identified order-to-cash transitions among the integration issues and said the acquired vascular intervention revenue base had been disproportionately affected by the difficulties. Kirsch also said inventories at some major vascular distributors had risen in the first half.
For the second half, Kirsch said Teleflex expected vascular and surgical growth to continue at a more moderate rate than in the first half, alongside a longer timeline for full interventional integration. He said Teleflex had deliberately increased research and development investment, with expense at 7.90% of sales in the first half of 2026.
Jason Weidman said tariffs and the addition of the vascular intervention business reduced adjusted gross margin from a year earlier. He attributed the decline in adjusted operating margin to gross margin pressure, higher expenses associated with the acquisition and increased research and development investment. Weidman also said lower share count and tax rate helped increase adjusted earnings per share, partly offset by tariffs and higher interest expense.
Weidman said Teleflex had closed the OEM divestiture and used the remaining net proceeds primarily to pay off an acquisition-related term loan. He said the company intended to begin an additional $250.0 million accelerated share repurchase after the divestiture. Teleflex also said its restructuring plan remained on track and that it was identifying further cost reductions to mitigate stranded costs from the divestitures.
Responding to a modeling question, CFO John Deren said the analyst’s numbers did not sound unreasonable under the margin assumption discussed on the call, while noting that Teleflex was not ready to guide for the following year. On tariff refunds, Deren said some received during the quarter related to the prior year and were split between continuing and discontinued operations; he said the timing of further refunds was uncertain.
Guidance
Teleflex lowered its FY2026 pro forma adjusted constant-currency revenue growth outlook to 3.50%–4.50% from 4.50%–5.50%, citing first-half performance, the extended interventional integration timeline and its second-half expectations. The guidance is for continuing operations and excludes the acute care, interventional urology and OEM businesses.
The company raised its adjusted earnings-per-share outlook to $6.90–$7.20 from $6.25–$6.55, reflecting second-quarter results, its second-half expectations, share repurchases and lower expected net interest expense. Teleflex also lowered its GAAP diluted EPS outlook to $2.54–$2.84. Weidman said the company had reduced its assumptions for full-year net interest expense and the adjusted tax rate.
