Latest quarter
OGE Energy reported third-quarter revenue of $1.2 billion, above the $1.1 billion consensus estimate. Its adjusted earnings of $1.52 per share also exceeded the consensus of $1.38.
Revenue rose from $1.0 billion a year earlier, while diluted earnings increased from $1.14 to $1.52 per share. The filing shows net income of $316.2 million, compared with $231.3 million a year earlier.
The filing attributes the increase at utility OG&E primarily to higher operating revenue from warmer weather and load growth, lower operation and maintenance expense, and higher net other income, partly offset by increased income tax expense. It also reports a smaller loss from other operations, helped by investment income and lower interest expense.
OGE reported an operating margin of 36.2%, compared with 32.7% a year earlier, while gross margin was 62.7%, compared with 62.8%. Free cash flow was $103.3 million, down from $168.3 million.

What management said on the call
CEO Sean Trauschke said extended air-conditioning use drove higher electricity consumption during an unusually hot summer, even though the residential price per kilowatt hour was 7% lower in August and September than a year earlier. He said the service area experienced more than 45 days of triple-digit temperatures, compared with just one last year.
CFO Chuck Walworth said both customer growth and weather-normalized load growth were approximately 1%. He attributed the variance on load largely to customer ramp timing and maintenance outages that reduced usage among some larger customers. Trauschke said OGE’s Oklahoma rate review reflects system investments and includes expanded assistance and payment options.
On generation, Trauschke said OGE filed for Oklahoma pre-approval of a 755 MW combined-cycle plant at Horseshoe Lake and planned to file in Arkansas in the coming weeks. He said units 11 to 12 were completed ahead of schedule and $12 million under budget, adding approximately 448 MW. Units 13 to 14 remain under construction and will add another 440 MW, he said.
Walworth said the proposed Unit 15 represents approximately $1.75 billion of investment and has an expected in-service date in 2031. He said OGE has approximately 1.1 GW of remaining capacity need after adding the unit. Trauschke told analysts that the company intends to own and operate the majority of the capacity, using some short-term bridge capacity during construction. Asked about the generation mix, he said it would be principally gas, potentially with solar and storage, while negotiations continued.
Walworth said the five-year capital plan includes an incremental $555 million for storage and transmission projects. He said OGE established an at-the-market program authorizing up to $750 million of common equity issuance and expects approximately $200 million of incremental equity over the planning horizon. Asked about returns and the rate case, he said he expected earned return on equity to remain smooth rather than reset in steps with rate cases.
Guidance
OGE Energy raised its 2026 consolidated earnings guidance to $2.62 to $2.68 per share. Walworth said the updated range assumes normal weather for the rest of the year and reflects opportunities to execute work planned for future years.
