Latest quarter
MaxLinear reported Q3 FY2026 revenue of $218.1 million, above the $215.0 million consensus. Adjusted earnings per share of $0.62 also exceeded the $0.56 consensus.
Revenue rose from $126.5 million a year earlier. MaxLinear’s filing attributed the increase to demand in data center infrastructure, industrial and multi-market, and connectivity products, partly offset by lower broadband sales volumes. The filing said infrastructure shipments increased across optical products for data centers, high-performance analog and wireless backhaul, while broadband shipments fell as customers transitioned to new standards.
Gross margin rose to 58.7% from 56.9%, which the filing attributed to product mix. Operating margin was 13.9%, compared with −32.7% a year earlier. MaxLinear reported free cash flow of −$23.2 million, compared with $3.4 million a year earlier. CFO Steven Litchfield said the company made a substantial wafer prepayment to support demand for data center products.

What management said on the call
CEO Kishore Seendripu said demand for optical data center connectivity was increasing and that MaxLinear’s data center business was exceeding his expectations. He said infrastructure revenue grew 210.0% from a year earlier and had become larger than the company’s other revenue categories combined. Seendripu attributed the quarter’s growth in part to adoption of optical products and expanding customer engagements.
Seendripu said the Keystone product family was in volume production across multiple hyperscale customers. He added that qualification programs for Rushmore, the next generation of optical interconnect products, were advancing toward production. When analysts asked about the pace of qualification, he said MaxLinear had to prioritize module makers because its internal teams could not support every program simultaneously.
Asked about supply, Seendripu said optical supply was easing, but foundry capacity was constraining the supply of digital signal processors. He also said he did not believe customers were placing duplicate orders, citing supply-chain discipline and the need to match components to particular data center designs. On competition, he said it was difficult to estimate market share because demand estimates were moving, although he believed MaxLinear was gaining share.
CFO Steven Litchfield said customers were booking optical products well beyond normal lead times to secure supply. Asked about prepayments, he said he expected them to continue rising as revenue projections increased; he linked the company’s expanded revolving facility partly to securing additional capacity.
On margins and pricing, Litchfield said MaxLinear had passed some ecosystem cost increases to customers and expected gross margin to rise as infrastructure became a larger share of sales. For the quarter ahead, he said optical interconnects would drive infrastructure growth, while broadband and connectivity would decline seasonally and industrial and multi-market revenue would rise.
Guidance
On the earnings call, CEO Kishore Seendripu raised MaxLinear’s FY2026 optical data center revenue outlook to $250.0 million–$270.0 million. He linked the revision to infrastructure momentum, saying bookings extended beyond the following year and the company’s data center business was exceeding his expectations.
