LandBridge Company LLC (LB) Earnings & Analysis

Updated · Covers results through Q3 FY2026 · Earnings call · How this is made

Latest quarter

LandBridge reported third-quarter revenue of $70.9 million, up from $50.8 million a year earlier. Diluted earnings per share rose to $0.44 from $0.26, while net income was $34.0 million.

The filing attributed an $8.0 million increase in surface-use royalties to more produced-water handling and associated skim-oil royalties. LandBridge said acquisitions and organic growth on its Stateline position contributed to the higher water-handling volumes. Easements and other surface-related revenues rose $11.3 million, primarily from pipeline and produced-water infrastructure, partially offset by lower road and subsurface easements.

LandBridge also reported higher resource sales, including caliche and brackish water, and higher oil and gas royalties. Other revenue declined as a prior-year minimum revenue commitment associated with the Wolf Bone Ranch acquisition was met in the latest quarter.

The company reported an operating margin of 68.1%, compared with 60.8% a year earlier. Free cash flow rose to $49.0 million from $33.8 million.

What management said on the call

CEO Jason Long said LandBridge added approximately 25,000 acres during the quarter, including undeveloped pore space outside overpressured injection zones. He said the company was in discussions with operators about using that space for produced-water disposal. CFO Scott McNeely said higher water-handling volumes and pipeline easement revenue helped lift surface-use revenue from the preceding quarter.

Long said PowerBridge exercised an option on an initial 825-acre portion of the Alpha Digital Campus site in September. LandBridge entered a long-term ground lease and power royalty agreement, and Long said PowerBridge had started construction. He said the initial phase would use on-site natural-gas power and non-potable brackish water.

Asked about potential policy changes affecting data centers, McNeely said LandBridge’s projects were designed around concerns about the grid, water supply and community impact. He said the projects use behind-the-meter power and water sources other than municipal or freshwater supplies. Asked separately about produced-water regulation, McNeely said he did not expect an abrupt change and pointed to LandBridge’s approach to permitting and pore-space management.

On acquisition investment, Long said land purchased during the year cost approximately 10x EBITDA and that he had a line of sight to bringing that below 6x through near-term pore-space monetization. McNeely said third-quarter acquisitions contributed to a rise in borrowings to $765 million from $545.2 million at the end of the second quarter.

McNeely said LandBridge used proceeds from an additional $125 million note issuance in October to repay part of its revolving borrowings. He said the company had a long-term net leverage target of 2 to 2.5x, compared with covenant net leverage of 3.0x at the third-quarter end. In response to a question on Alpha’s economics, McNeely said he expected ground rents to begin next year as the site scales over several years.

Guidance

LandBridge raised its FY2026 adjusted EBITDA guidance to $220.0 million–$235.0 million from $210.0 million–$230.0 million. On the earnings call, CFO Scott McNeely said the expected contribution from recent acquisitions beginning in the fourth quarter supported the increase in the full-year outlook.
