Latest quarter

Allegion reported third-quarter revenue of $1.2 billion, above the $1.1 billion consensus and up from $1.1 billion a year earlier. Adjusted earnings per share of $2.60 also exceeded the $2.49 consensus.

The company’s filing attributed revenue growth to higher prices and volumes and acquisitions, partly offset by unfavorable currency movements. Americas revenue rose 11.7%, while International revenue increased 1.8%; the latter’s organic revenue declined 0.2%. Allegion said lower International volumes reflected market conditions in Western Europe.

Operating margin increased to 24.3% from 21.8%, and the filing attributed the improvement in part to tariff refunds, pricing and productivity gains. Gross margin rose to 46.8% from 45.8%. Allegion reported diluted earnings per share of $2.59, compared with $2.18 a year earlier, while free cash flow increased to $278.6 million from $209.8 million.

What management said on the call

CEO John Stone said Americas nonresidential organic growth drove the quarter and that specification-writing activity supported continued demand into 2027. Asked about the outlook, he said data-center projects provided a base for volume growth, with other types of customers also expected to contribute. He added that skilled-trade labor could constrain market growth and that larger construction projects could make results uneven from quarter to quarter.

Stone said residential growth had recently come primarily from pricing, with end-market volume roughly flat. He expected a stable residential demand environment in 2027, but said inflation and high interest rates made a recovery difficult to forecast. In International, Stone said the earlier ERP challenge had been resolved and operations and lead times had returned to normal, although conditions remained difficult in Western Europe, particularly Germany.

Asked about pricing, executive Michael Wagnes said Allegion had introduced multiple increases across selected businesses to counter inflation. He expected another pricing announcement in early February and said the company would provide the magnitude of its pricing and inflation assumptions with its outlook then. On margins, Wagnes expected full-year 2026 margins to be flat to slightly up and expansion in 2027, with the amount to be provided in February.

On competition in connected residential locks, Stone said the product category discussed by analysts represented a low-single-digit percentage of Americas revenue. He said Allegion’s electronic growth strategy included new products and customers converting from mechanical locks or upgrading older electronic locks.

Stone also said Allegion had launched its Optimize app to help customers manage connected products and had acquired specialty-door manufacturer Overly Door Company in early October for approximately $90 million. He said the company had made a $40 million follow-on investment in Ambient.ai.

Guidance

Allegion raised its FY2026 reported revenue growth outlook to 9.5% to 10.5% and its organic growth outlook to 5% to 6%. Stone attributed the changes to stronger Americas demand and pricing, as well as acquisitions.

The company raised its adjusted EPS outlook to $9.05 to $9.10 from its previous range of $8.85 to $9.00. Stone also raised the Americas organic growth assumption to 7% to 8%, citing nonresidential demand and pricing.
